Building Safe Spaces

We are in a world that moves too fast and listens too little, so safe spaces are vital. These are the places where people, especially those who have been marginalized or unheard can begin find themselves. There are too few places where people can reflect, be seen, and start to heal. Too few people who listen our stories so we can begin to understand our history and our current situation

Leadership and Education Oaxaca seeks to support programs that create these spaces and transform existing spaces. . Whether it’s a circle for women learning to speak their truth, a workshop to understand our personal history, or a grade school classroom that has formerly been out of control. Making safe spaces allows transformation to occur.
